How To: Schedule an eGuard Group Export

Follow the steps in this article to schedule a weekly or monthly recurring export from eGuard

Overview

Follow the steps in this article to schedule a recurring weekly or monthly export from eGuard. This export can be scheduled either on a weekly or monthly basis and will include day-granular average readings.

Prerequisites

  • eGuard group access level: Administrator or Manager. 

Instructions

Step 1: Log into your eGauge.net account and choose ‘Account Settings’ from the User menu:

 

 

Step 2: On the Account Settings Page, click Scheduled Exports under the eGuard section. If you are adding your first scheduled export, you'll be immediately prompted to add one (skip to Step 3).

Any previously added scheduled exports will be listed here, and when they are scheduled to run. To add an export click the Create Scheduled Export button.

 

Click on an existing Scheduled Export in the list to see the export details including:

  • The Group(s) the export runs against
  • Creation date of the scheduled export and the user account it was created under.
  • When the export is scheduled to run
  • Previous executions of the export including:
    • Date and time of the report execution
    • Download link to pull the report that was created 
    • A list of eGauge devices included in the report 
  • Click the Delete Scheduled Export button to delete the scheduled export.  This cannot be undone.

Step 3: Scheduled reports can be run on a weekly or monthly basis.  Choose which you would like by clicking on the correct tab as shown below:

 

Step 4: Choose the Day of the Month or Day of the week to run the data export. 

Step 5: Choose the group you would like to run the export on. Any groups and subgroups that you have administrative access to will be available. One group and its subgroups may be chosen. if you have multiple groups you will need to schedule an export for each main group.

Step 6: Choose the Export type:

  • Cumulative: Returns total cumulative meter-reading like values.
  • Difference: Returns kWh difference for each interval.
  • Average: Returns the instantaneous averages, such as wattage, amperage and voltages.

Additional options:

  • Include subgroups: Check this option to include all subgroups that exist under the chosen group.
  • Notify all group members: Check this option to email the export to all members of the chosen group.
  • Include Peak Demand: Check this option to include Peak Demand information in your export. Additional Peak Demand options are:
    • Peak method: Choose ‘Rolling Demand’ or ‘Set Demand’
    • Peak Polarity: Choose ‘Positive’, ‘Negative’ or ‘Positive or Negative, whichever is bigger’

Step 7: Click the Schedule Export button to schedule the export. The export will be emailed at 13:00 UTC on the day after it's scheduled to execute.

 

Troubleshooting and Tips

  • Issue: I don't have an option for Scheduled Exports on my Account Settings page.
    • Solution: You may need an increase in your permission level. Contact your group administrator or eGauge Support for assistance.
